HAWAII - Waikiki

I think I need to start this by saying that in the ten years Dave and I have been married we have only left our kids to get away, just the two of us, three times, and each for one night. Planning the trip I was so nervous, but once we got to Hawaii, I got lost in the adventure and had a blast reconnecting with my best friend and hubby.
On the flight.
We only passed through Waikiki our first night. The sunset was amazing, but the beach was so crowded, and the shopping and malls in the part we were in reminded me of Vegas.

Polynesian Culture Center

The luau, and some friends we met during the day, Don, me, Dave, Ricky, Emily, and Kristy. One of the best pina coladas I have ever had.

Punalu, Oahu

Our favorite part of the trip was the turtles. This is off the condo's beach while we were snorkelling. There were a couple that swam too fast for us, but this guy let us keep up with him.
He has such a kind face!

Oahu, Turtle Bay

Turtle Bay, except that we didn't we didn't see any turtles, just a crab.
Some new friends let us into their private club, the Outrigger Canoe Club. We had lunch by the ocean, I got to lay out, and Dave tried surfing. The club is on Diamond head, east of Waikiki.
Snorkelling in Hanauma Bay. The fish were amazing. What you can't tell by the pictures is that some of them were at least a foot high, and 18 inches long.
This one in the background was one of the biggest.
Snorkelling, not our most attractive shots. I gave Dave an underwater camera for Christmas, and it was fun to play with. Being that the camera is Dave's, and new, there are actually a lot of shots of me this trip.
Hanauma Bay from above.
This is the Costco in Kauaii. There were chickens and roosters all over the island, but especially in places where there was food.

Kauaii

The Napoli coast from above. I love that we are level with the clouds, and I just love the guy in this picture!

Kauaii- our last full day in Hawaii

Our last night we took a ride on a catamaran. When we purchased tickets it was for a ride by the Napoli coast, but due to weather we ended up heading east. It was still beautiful, and perfect. They served a buffet dinner, had good music, and a lot of fun. There were tons of whales blowing and even jumping out of the water, I am not good enough with the camera to catch it though. I did some pictures of the dolphins, have to show the kids!
I thought it was so thoughtful of the crew to use the boat that matched my dress perfectly!
Dolphins, they were swimming in front of our boat and the boat that happened to be next to us here.
Just starting off.

Poipo, Kauai

A beautiful monk seal, only about 1200 left. Volunteers stand guard when they come to rest on the beach. They were so beautiful to look at, I love his fuzz! They are endangered, and that is the sad part.
